From the Author:
Thanks for stopping to check out my Cranthem Series website. This is the home of the Cranthem Series, a multi-book series that follows Amelia Collins and her journey through the Cranthem Series.
Before reading any chapters, it may help to browse the site. In addition there are a few things that I should let you know up front. While some authors like to surprise readers with different races through the story, I'm going to do it a bit differently and give it to you up front. That doesn't mean I won't explain more in detail about the characters, creatures and races you meet, but if you're like me, I like to know a little bit of what's going on and who's who. So Let's begin.
Amelia Collins - (Protagonist) Amelia is the daughter of Seamus and Alexis Collins and she lives in the town of Erisenna.
Dawn - (Antagonist) Dawn is probably around 18-20 years old. She's very mysterious and already powerful, like a witch. But is she something more? However while she is witch-like, Dawn is very smooth so-to-speak in the way she does things. Unlike the Voshena she does things in a quieter manner. She is also not 100 something years old, nor did she cast a spell to be "pretty".
Seamus Collins - Amelia's father, and leader of the Royal Regiment (The Order to the Monarch). Seamus is basically Monarch Flaryn's right-hand man.
Alexis Collins - Amelia's mother. She is well respect woman and is seen as the unofficial Queen of Erisenna.
Monarch Flaryn - The ruler of Erisenna. He is shifty, crafty and sometimes a little stern, especially with Amelia and her curiosity.
Paul Gehran - Paul is from a small mountain village up high in the mountains just southwest of Wilikschor. Paul is good friends with Seamus, and is an older-brother figure to Amelia.
Lou - Lou is a Coviseta, a type of Centaur. He can shift to full man, or half man, half horse. He is a family friend of the Collins'. He is very skilled fighter, especially with his weapon of choice - Behrenga, a staff like weapon with some nice adaptations and a few surprises.
Iris - Iris is a Grunther that fleed from Rikshiver within months of arriving from Graadevar, a nordic island hundreds of miles Northeast of Talonkel.
Coviseta - Covisetans are Centaurs. They can shift to full man, or half man, half horse. Some are very good bounty hunters and have had a long standing history of alliance with the North, especially Evorli and Erisenna.
Voshena - (vah-shey-nah) A tall viking-like race that relies on deceptive trading and loves to put bargains in their favor. Should one question a deal proposal and/or make an offer not in a Voshena's favor or steal from them, one better have a quick escape plan. Voshena are often ill-tempered and just about anything can set them off. They employ Grunters for anything from workers to security guards. Grunthers are paid well and are free to leave as they please.
Grunthers - White-furred bi-pedal snow ape type beings, that have three horns protruding from their forehead. They are very good bodyguards and/or bounty hunters like the Coviseta. When a Grunther leaves the Voshena, they usually perform a ritual of removing their horns. This solidifies that they do not condone the ways of the Voshena, because they will not hire a Grunther without it's horns. Why? Not many, if anyone knows.
Gnar - The Gnar are quite secretive, taking up residence in the rarely traveled Southwest Mellenfael Mountains. They Gnar can best be described as a type of dark elves.
There are other characters that you will meet in the book, but this gives you a good starting point.
